New Year, New Director
As my time as Interim Executive Director of Wayne County Historical comes to an end, I want to share my deepest gratitude with all of you. This past year has been an extraordinary journey, one filled with learning, growth, and above all, a profound sense of connection with our amazing community. It has been a true privilege to help guide the museum over the past 16+ months, and I am so proud of what we have accomplished together.
Working at the museum and connecting with our visitors and members has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Meeting so many passionate individuals—whether members, visitors, or guests—has taught me the true power of preserving and celebrating our local history. Their dedication and enthusiasm, whether expressed through volunteering, attending events, donating, or simply spreading the word about the museum, have shown me how deeply this institution is cherished. I truly appreciate their unwavering support and for making this past year such a meaningful and transformative experience for me personally.
I am thrilled to welcome Bill Bunch as the museum’s new Executive Director. He brings a fresh perspective, years of financial experience, and a shared commitment to honoring our heritage while building an exciting future for WCHM. I have every confidence that Bill will lead the museum into a new chapter filled with opportunity and success.
Though I am stepping down from my interim role, I am not stepping away. I look forward to continuing to serve the museum and our community as a volunteer, working alongside Bill – and all of you – to ensure the Wayne County Historical Museum thrives for years to come. This place and its mission are close to my heart, and I am eager to support Bill in every way I can.
Thank you for the trust, kindness, and encouragement shown to me over the past year. I will always treasure the memories we have created together and the shared love we have for this museum and our history.
With heartfelt gratitude and excitement for the future,
Tina Conti
Executive Director Notes
I am pleased to introduce myself as the new Executive Director of the Wayne County Historical
Museum. I come to the museum from a successful career as owner of a management consulting
firm that provided management and operations services to small and medium-sized public water,
sewer, and solid waste utilities in Kentucky. My academic background includes a bachelor’s
degree in accounting, with minors in history and political science, master’s degrees in economics,
business, and theology, and a PhD in theology.
My passion for history, historic preservation, and historical architecture, as well as my hobbies
of reading and restoring classic cars, reflect my commitment to understanding and preserving the
past.
During my initial tour of the museum upon my arrival in Richmond, I was captivated by its unique
character and extensive collection that showcases both global perspectives and Richmond’s
unique history and heritage. I am excited about the opportunity to serve the community as
Executive Director and look forward to working closely with the Board of Directors to further its
mission. I am dedicated to continuing the legacy of those who have loved and cared for the
collection before me. I believe that the museum is a tremendous asset to Richmond and Wayne
County and I am eager to lead it into a promising future.
Warmest,
Bill Bunch
